ANTANANARIVO, April 29 (Xinhua) -- Twenty-one Malagasy workers have been reported missing in Mauritius, according to a statement released Wednesday by Madagascar's Ministry of Labor, Employment, and Civil Service.
The statement said the workers are believed to have left their workplace without informing their supervisors in advance, raising concerns about their situation. However, preliminary investigations by the ministry indicated that no accident or incident had occurred to them at this stage.
The Malagasy government has launched efforts to locate the workers and assess their situation.
According to the statement, the 21 workers are believed to remain in Mauritian territory. Authorities have urged them to contact the Malagasy diplomatic mission in Mauritius without delay to receive assistance and ensure their safety. ■
